I’m new to BLOK, can I come and look around before booking a class?
Absolutely. Feel free to drop into either studio and our reception team can show you around.
It’s my first class, what do I need to wear?
Please bring workout appropriate clothing. Shoes are required for all classes apart from Pilates, yoga and barre - you can do these in bare feet.
Do you have changing rooms and showers?
Yes. Our showers and changing rooms are fully stocked with Malin + Goetz products, we have hairdryers at both sites and our Shoreditch studio has hair straighteners too. Shower towels are available from reception for £1. Charging for towels is part of our eco promise (link)
For boxing classes, do I need to bring my own gloves and wraps?
We supply gloves free of charge, but feel free to bring your own if you wish. You can bring your own hand wraps, purchase a set from reception for £5 or use the hand mitts supplied in the studio, free of charge. For a video on how to put on hand wraps please click here (link)
Do you offer free trials?
All customers are entitled to their first class for free. Please set up a BLOK account, drop email@example.com an email and we’ll add the class to your account.
Do you sell water on site?
Of course, we have a cafe at both of our studios so you can buy CanOwater, Dark Arts Coffee, post workout smoothies or grab some food from our Essence Express line.
Do you have lockers?
Yes! Our Shoreditch studio is kitted out with electronic lockers, instructions are on the inside of the door. Our Clapton studio has lockers, but please bring your own padlock.
Do you have space for bike parking?
We have loads of space at Clapton for your bike, please ensure you lock it up before checking in. There are bike spaces around our Shoreditch studio but they do not belong to BLOK, any bikes are parked at the owners risk.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can change or cancel your class bookings up to 12 hours before the start of the class. If you cancel within 12 hours you will forfeit your class credit and unlimited members will be charged a late cancellation fee of £5. This charge will increase to £8 if you cancel within 2 hours or fail to show up.
I'm running late, will I still be allowed in the class?
At the request of our instructors we have altered our policy to 5 minutes after the class start time. This is to avoid disrupting the class and to ensure you don't miss the warm up and put yourself at risk. Should you arrive later than 5 minutes after the class start time you will not be allowed in. Please respect our reception staff, they will do their best to put you into a later class.
I just found out I’m pregnant, can I still attend classes?
Congratulations! We have lots of customers who have trained with us right through their pregnancy. We do recommend sticking to low impact classes however every pregnancy journey is different. All we ask if that you consult your doctor before exercising and let our instructor know before the class begins. Please read our full pregnancy disclaimer here.
I have been added to the wait list, how does that work?
Should somebody cancel their spot in the class up to 12 hours before, you will automatically be moved off the wait list and enrolled in the class - we’ll send you an email to let you know!
If it is within 12 hours of the class, should a spot become available our reception team will give you a call and offer you a spot. If you decline to attend, you will not be charged.
If the wait list expires and you do not get a spot, please allow a few hours for the credit to reappear on your account.
Do you offer personal training sessions at BLOK?
Yes we do! Our personal training sessions happen around our timetabled classes. Please drop us a line on firstname.lastname@example.org with the studio you wish to train at, your goals and the instructor you have in mind.
How old do I have to be to attend classes at BLOK?
Our classes and personal training sessions are available to over 18s only.
Can I use my credits to bring a friend to class?
Unfortunately our health & safety policy requires each customer to be booked into classes under their own name, on their own account. If your friend is new to BLOK please ask them to create an account and we can add a complimentary first class to their account.
I've left something in the changing rooms! How do I get it back?
Don't panic, our reception team will have found it and logged it. Please call or email the relevant studio to double check, they will hold the item until your next visit. Get in touch with the team at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org. Due to storage we can only hold items for 4 weeks, please make sure you collect your items within this time frame.
I work in the area, do you offer any corporate discounts?
All local businesses are entitled to our Black Card scheme, this offers up to 30% off memberships. Please email email@example.com for more details.
I'm going on holiday, can I freeze my account for the time I'm away?
Of course. We ask that you give us at least 30 days notice for all freezes, please email your holiday dates to firstname.lastname@example.org and we can alter your account meaning that you are not charged for the time you are not at BLOK.
I need to cancel my account, how do I do this?
